Franklin Surveys was hired by Save the Sound to provide the existing conditions survey that was used as part of the base map for planning and designing a greenspace project which is currently moving forward in New Haven. Save the Sound has been developing the Mill River Trail and have completed the northern leg. The second leg includes the greenspace project in which a community dumping ground will be converted into a green pocket park that aims to include bioretention features and a pollinator garden.
Our survey specifically targeted the intersection of Exchange Street and Haven Street, on the east side of the Mill River and south of Grand Avenue. In the course of the work, we measured the details of the surrounding lots, walkways, and retaining walls, to allow for proper transitions onto existing improved areas, such as the adjacent John S. Martinez Magnet School. We are proud to have provided survey support on several noteworthy projects for this fine organization.
