Summer 2020 – We completed professional services for the construction of the new Springhill Suites by Marriott. It is now open for guests at 76 Berlin Road (Route 372) in Cromwell.
Survey work began in 2018 with an existing conditions survey to map the property boundaries and the locations of existing utilities that were installed prior for adjacent properties. This task included the placement of an extensive stormwater detention system on the survey using available records, digitization, and other methods.
During construction, we were responsible for the stake-out of new site and utility features, as well as the hotel building itself. Large buildings such as hotels are staked out based on rectangular dimension systems, wherein column lines are numbered and lettered. Franklin Surveys’ crews set precise marks in the ground to show where the columns should be placed. Our final task on the project was to perform surveys of the positions of improvements post-construction in support of the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy.
